Pet Tips for pet owners, keeping healthy cats and dogs
Your pet dog and cat is more than just an animal, he is a good and faithful friend and companion.
You need to plan pet care so here are a few pet tips to help with the care of your pet.
The pet tips below will help you care for your pet dog and cat and may help to keep your pet happy and healthy by preventing accidents or a visit to the vet.

Pet Adoptions
It's a sad fact today that there are many homeless pets, some maybe due to today's economic climate, other pets may have been "given up" by naive pet owners who never really planned on having a pet, and then find themselves overwhelmed by the task of keeping their pet. So if you're thinking of having a pet, instead of buying your pet you could help one that is already homeless. simply visit your local pet adoption center, you could adopt a puppy, or adopt a kitten, all sorts of pet adoptions take place, you may find pet rabbits, pet guinea pigs or even pet parrots.
If you have a problem with cat diarrhoea or dogs diarrhea, but your cat or dog seems as if he or she feels fine, and are eating and drinking as normal, you're probably ok to care for the problem at home. You could try adding a bit of probiotic yoghurt to their food if they seem to get "the runs" regularly. If the symptoms get worse or there is no improvement within 24 hours, seek advice from your vet as your pet could soon become dehydrated.

Ear
infections symptoms are not comfortable for your pet. Your cat
or dog or will show discomfort by scratching his ears and shaking
his head. If this becomes persistent, then it is important to have
your pet examined so try some pet vet care, as ear infections in dogs have many
different causes.
Watch for heatstroke symptoms in your cat or dog: panting (or suddenly not panting), salivating, vomiting, reddened gums and tongue, anxiety, weakness, racing heartbeat, and collapse. Immediately move any pet with heatstroke symptoms to a cooler spot, and slowly reduce the animal's temperature by placing its body (not head) in cool water wrapping the pet in cool, wet towels. Then take it to a vet, for any more advice of any other pet vet care that is needed.
Dogs and cats living together
You need to train your dog and cat to live together in harmony if
you're just introduced a new pet into the home, this task can be
difficult, but it is possible. To start with you need to get the
animals to spend time in the same room together, with the dog under
control on a collar and lead, the more time they spend together, the more
tolerant they will become of each other.
Although if you are introducing cats into a home with a dog that has
always shown aggression to cats, then you are in for a very
difficult time, at best, this type of dog
character, will probably, at
the very least, give the cat a hard time, so in this
scenario, its probably best, not to force the two together. A new
puppy and new kitten have the best chance of tolerance, which may
even develop into affection for each other.
Care for your pets grooming. Don't neglect pet grooming in the winter. While a regular bath is unwise, brushing and even "dry" bathing will keep your pet's coat clean and healthy, and reduce odour. Short hair helps your pet stay cool, but don't shave off all of his hair. A pet's coat will protect against the sun. Care for your pets dental health. Have teeth cleaned professionally whenever your vet advises it.
It's good advice, to not overfeed your dog or cat. Obesity will create health problems and shorten their life.
